Can we actually meet the producer?

Very often, yes. At small growers the person pouring your tasting is frequently the winemaker or their family. Meetings depend on the season and the producer's availability, which is why we arrange visits in advance.
Is the vineyard route drivable year-round?

Yes. Harvest (late August–September) is the most spectacular, spring and summer the greenest, and winter offers misty, quiet cellars with more available producers. The tour runs all year.
