Day trip · Paris to Champagne

From Paris to the Côte des Blancs by lunchtime.

Reims and Épernay are 150 km east — about 90 minutes by car, and that distance is the entire reason you don't want to drive yourself: someone has to taste, and someone has to not. We bring you to two grandes maisons and one rising grower in a single day, with stops at the chalk cellars under Reims and a lunch you'll talk about for weeks.

What is included

Every detail handled, so your only job is to arrive.

01

Grandes maisons access

We arrange private tours and tastings at Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Taittinger, Ruinart and Pol Roger. Two to three visits per day is the sweet spot.

02

Grower discovery option

On request, we add a rising-star grower (Selosse, Egly-Ouriet, Larmandier-Bernier) for a more intimate, off-the-tourist-route experience.

03

Chalk-cellar visit

The UNESCO-listed crayères under Reims — 20 meters down, 12 °C year-round, kilometers of bottles. Pommery and Taittinger run the most photogenic ones.

04

Michelin lunch

L'Assiette Champenoise (3 stars, Tinqueux), Le Parc (2 stars, Reims) or the more relaxed Crayères du Roi at Pommery. We book ahead.

05

Safe return

You taste, we drive. Every chauffeur is breath-tested before departure (yes, daily). You return to Paris by 19:30 — relaxed, not anxious.

06

Multi-day extension

Stay overnight at the Royal Champagne (5 stars, Champillon)? We can add a second day with breakfast pickup and a vineyard walk.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered honestly.

How many maisons can we visit in one day?

+

Two large maisons + one grower is the realistic maximum if you want to enjoy a proper Michelin lunch. Three large maisons is doable but rushed.

Do you book the visits for us?

+

Yes — we have direct contacts at the major houses and can secure private tours. Allow 7+ days notice for guaranteed booking, especially in summer and harvest season.

Is the visit fee included in the chauffeur rate?

+

No — maison visit and tasting fees are separate (typically 60–250 € per person depending on the house and the bottles tasted). The chauffeur rate covers transport, tolls, parking, fuel and the driver's lunch.

Can we ship the bottles we buy back home?

+

Yes — most maisons offer international shipping. Your chauffeur can help arrange it on the spot or bring the bottles back to your Paris hotel concierge.
